Kiryas Yoel out of MonDroe Library
The Village of Kiryas Yoel will pull out of the MonDroe Library and pay the town $150,000 in three installments over the next two years to help offset the tax burden that will fall to the rest of the town. Kiryas Yoel residents rarely use the library because of cultural differences. They plan to open their own library, one with Yiddish and Hebrew materials. The separation means Kiryas Yoel residents will no longer vote on the library budget an annual worry for the library board or any future proposals for a larger facility.
