Heart attack claims rabbi, causing him to wreck van

A rabbi who was a camp manager died early yesterday after a heart attack caused him to crash his van.
State police said Rabbi Jacob Spierer, 50, was apparently heading back to Camp Ohr Yisroel near Parksville with a van load of baked goods about 2:30 a.m. on Route 17 eastbound.
Police said Spierer, who had a triple bypass last year and who has been under a doctor's care, apparently suffered a heart attack on Route 17 near Exit 99.
Police said the fatal heart attack led to the van's crash.
