Mayor Mike is taking his act to the Catskills.

Mayor Bloomberg is making a play for the hotly contested Orthodox Jewish vote over the next few days. On Sunday, he makes a pilgrimage to Sullivan County Catskills.

Bloomberg will travel to the Catskills, where he'll reportedly drop by a ShopRite, a hotel and at least one of the area's Jewish summer camps, according to people familiar with preliminary plans.

Yesterday, he snags the endorsement of Brooklyn Assemb. Dov Hikind. Hikind, who sat out the 2001 mayoral race, opted to back the mayor this year after being lobbied by his former aide, City Councilman Simcha Felder, a source said.

and who cares who Hikind endorses,
why no one asks him what has he done 15 years in Albany, did not sponsor or co-sponser a single bill to make life better for Jews or New Yorkers.

the venom that he spits when people in the community endorse some one else is what he really is.

as for Simcah, people should ask him why he voted for the 18% RE tax where most of Boro Park have houses and paid, so he can later gie to a non profit group out of the budget and play nie guy.

Boro Park wake up now, don't follow these frauds to the slaugther blindfolded.

lets not forget when Simcah was sworn in last time in City Hall, there was kosher food and the Mayor took some, a Rabbi asked him to make a brucah, his response was
"don't tell e what to do"...

while this blog should be for news, its important to inform your readers as well.

so don't respond to who is the writer and what score he has with either, just respond to the claims and facts with respect.

who cares where he goes, its a politial trip if he would not run he would neer be there

While its true that any politician only worries about his career and re-election, Mayor Mike is the best current candidate for the heimishe oilam. Yes he hasn't been overly supportive of our needs, but at least he is careful not to do anything that would directly offend us, as would the others that are currently in the running.

As for Simcha Felder, I believe that he has his heart in the right place. I believe that he voted for the raise in tax because he knew it would be passed anyway, and did not want to fight with the mayor. Those councilemen that voted against any of the mayors proposals, were later punished when their districts received less funding. Such is the game of politics.

when yoy say its "Politics" you are wrong, Noah Dear when he voted with Dinkins for the Navy Yard incinirator he said the same thing.

to good thing about the Jewish community and its old leaders from the 70s, was to stand up to any politicians, and worry later.

Lindsey, Beame, Carey and Coumo respected the Jewish community because it stood solid on its issues.

its "stupid" to say that Bloomberg has done anything to harm the city,
Crime, is down because of Shomrim, Cell phones and 3 strikes, you are out.

Education, 1/3 of the budget goes for security gaurds in public schools, you don't see it in private schools, so why is Bloomberg against school Vouchers.

Housing, Bloomberg wants you to build for affordable, and what does the city give you back in return-NOTHING. but he will show at the ribbon cutting.

how much housing from the state has Hikind bring to Boro Park in 15 Years? 0000000000000000000.

Everyone talks about affordable housing, but offers no suggestions as to how that should be accomplished.

Neither Dear, Hikind, nor Felder have any solutions.

I'm curious as to what people mean by "affordable" housing. The fact is, this is New York City, and obviously one of the hottest real estate markets in town. Affordable housing doesn't just happen out of the blue.
