The Village of Kaser From An Outsiders Visit
The village of Kaser is a half-hour from Manhattan in Rockland County the village has 3,000 residents in a half-dozen long residential blocks and is the heart of the Hasidic Viznitz sect in America.
He was sent to check the place out because a group of former Kaser residents plans to form a Hasidic village between Monticello and Fallsburg in the Town of Thompson. It is assumed Sullivan's new village will be like Kaser.
"This is a village,"said Kaser's clerk and treasurer. "We have a government. We have officials. It is no different than any other."
