Woodridge, Ulster County +Child Burned+ Hatzolah medics has an 8 month old with 2nd degree burns, the burn victim is now outside Ellenville Regional Hospital from the Belza Camp on Lake House Rd., wating for Life Guard-18 to arrive, set up by Napanoch FD.

there was a baby burn victon before in Belz girls camp in Elenville. hatzolah medics B35 and F98 asked for the chopper to meet them by Elenville hospital.Life gaurd 18 asked they should wait outside and not go into the ER, until they land, if not they will cancel.Child will be taken to Westchester pediatric burn unit. (the burn happened at lunch in the family dining room.)

Why would Lifeguard 18 cancel if they go into the ER?

something "big" was going on outside that hospital.
Life Gaurd 18 (the state police chopper) actually left without the child, after being on the ground over half an hour.
what I think could have happened, they took the kid into the ER, where it was decided it does not need a burn center. now the members who asked for the chopper will be in a little hot water?

I don't think anyone will be in hot water, it happens often that LG-18 will not transport a patient.

Once you take a patiant in a hospital, it can be a long process to take out.
Life gaurd 18 would cancel if they know it is going first into the ER, which can take too much time. they rather return and have them call again when ready.

it does not happen often. they will rather transport, even it it is a GMG. Leaving someone behind can bring a law suit.
they will leave behind if there is a cardiac arrest.

2nd degree burn for a baby is severe. any idea of percentage on body? also must be careful that parents are not suspicious of neglect or endangerment. Hashem y'rachem. name for tehillim???
