Mayor Bloomberg Appealing For The Orthodox Jewish Vote

The Mayor is stepping up its outreach to Orthodox Jews, He's hiring Governor Pataki's top aide Jewish liason, Michael Fragin this week, who also played a role in President Bush's apparently successful wooing of the socially-conservative Orthodox.

Mr. Fragin, an executive assistant to the governor since January 2004, will work on politics, field operations, and get-out-the-vote efforts for Mayor Bloomberg's campaign. The Pataki camp is sorry to see Mr. Fragin leave, a Pataki spokesman said.

"The governor thinks he's been a tremendous asset to the administration," a spokesman, said. "Essentially, he is the governor's primary adviser on issues relating to the Jewish community in New York State."

What did he do in the past years by Pataki for the Orthodox Jewish Community?

Why is Bloomberg putting so much resources into the Jewish vote, when its clear we won't vote for Ferrer. I think all this money is a waste.

Since when does Michael Fragin represent the Orthodox Jewish Community?

  • At 9:39 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

Fragin probably spent more time in Williamsburg and Boro Park than any other part of the state during his tenure. He's the best rep the Orthodox Jews have had in NYS in a long long time and he deserves our appreciation.

what has Bloomburg done for the socially-conservative Orthodox Jews anyway? Ticketed them to death?

So Michael Fragin is going to get us more Tickets?

Since when does he represent us?

  • At 10:09 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

Just keep on issuing tickets and Bloomberg could forget about the Orthodox Jewish vote.

Fragin & Klein are not going to get us to go out anbd vote, They don't even know how Boro Park or Williamsburg look like.

    Yeger keep it up.

They keep issuing tickets? How about starting to park legally, and feeding the meters. Is that so hard?

Ticket & Spend Bloomy is not getting my vote!

  • At 10:41 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

And Ferrer, what has he done for anyone. Im not saying Bloomberg is good, but he's the better choice.

to anonoymous 10:14 AM, there's a hugh difference between law enforcement ticketing & revenue raising ticketing. and what about sanitation ticketing? ask any home or business owner.

so let see, Fragin lives in Nassau County and he can't vote for Mayor in NYC.

so now he is going to tell us who to vote for? how stupid.

yes, what has he done since January 2004, "Primary Advisor" this must be a joke.
as the saying in Washington "does he have the keys to the mens room yet".

why didn't the Mayor take the former "Primary Advisor" Mr. Grunspan who the Governor gave to Bloomberg 4 years ago and is now Community Assistance Commissioner.

he has more brains, knows more people and politics, maybe he can't or won't do it.

its all about Fragin getting a job by Bloomberg, because Pataki is history.

if the Bloomberg people think that the Jewish community is stupid and brainless that now that he hired Fragin we will vote for him? good luck.

"I know the Jewish community" and now they have one more reason NOT TO VOTE for Bloomberg.

the Bloomberg camp has no spark plugs going, so they are trying to excite the Jews.

Mr. Bloomberg, for 3 1/2 years we did not see you at any Jewish event, you totaly inored the Jewish community, your frienship with Simcah Felder is because he helped you take money from our pocket in the 18% real estate tax
so let him vote for you.

the people of the city are angry, and they took out thier anger first on Gifford Miller and Bloomberg is next.

all because of the real estate increase.

this election depends on 50,000 votes, and the jews like to stay home, he needs the jews to come out, and the boro park jews will vote for him. but if they stay on the sidelines, he will lose.

to anonymous 2:04, like i said originally, there's a hugh difference between law enforcement ticketing & revenue raising ticketing. what is a home/business owner to do? sweep the sidewalk from dawn to dusk?

to the people in williamsburg, look how your streets look, it a ugly place to visit and for sure to live in, there are posters on the polls and on the floor, half a sidewalk is full with your filthy garbage that you don't put out nice and clean, the streets aren't cleaned, come to any other neighborhood and look how you clean in front of your house

  • At 10:27 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

You most probably have a parking permit issued by Greenspun or Fragin so you could talk. How me and others that are trying to make an honest living and get summons everyday for a stupid rapper on the sidewalk or because a traffic cop decided to give a ticket to finish the book, Huh?

And you think I will vote for Bloomberg, Guess what you have a big mistake. He does not have my vote and a lot of other people that are afraid to talk, their vote.

  • At 12:06 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

talking about parking permits, why did the police department pull all permits from Shomrim in boro park?

These people saying that Willi town stinks don't live there and sound like they are working for the Mayor and trying to cover up why they are issuing tickets right & left all day.

  • At 9:27 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

I just saw a car with the regular shomrim id placed on the window so what do you mean by why did the police department pull all permits from Shomrim in boro park?

  • At 11:50 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

I'm sick and tired of our community basing a decision on not to vote on the fact that they got a stupid ticket. Yes, these agents are completely crazy, and the mayor's office is completely clueless on this, but at the end of this all, by not coming out to vote, we'll end up with worse results than tickets.

  • At 2:03 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

    Like what?
If you are a business owner you get tickets in front of your store
If you own a car you get a ticket for trying to park your car
if you own a house your real estate tax is up up up and going up again by next year

So why should I vote for the Mayor?

  • At 10:39 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

newsflash: don't triple park by a bus stop and maybe hire someone to actually sweep up in front of your store, then let's talk. as for real estate taxes, ask your friends in lakewood or the five towns how much they pay.
