Williamsburg Bridge Bumpy Bike Road Being Fixed, But Not Everyone Is Happy About It.
A stretch of bumps along the Williamsburg Bridge bike and pedestrian path is finally getting smoothed out.
Many cyclists crashed and were severely injured, but to the city's credit, they recognized this was a problem and are making it safer," said someone from Transportation Alternatives, who led the campaign to remove the bumps.
But not everyone was happy the bumps will be removed.
Isaac Abraham, argued the bumps help to slow cyclists. Just yesterday, Abraham said his wife, Sara, was stuck by a cyclist during her daily morning walk across the bridge.
"Not only should the bumps be there, the bumps should be higher," said Abraham, whose wife was taken to NYU Medical Center for treatment.

He's upset that he wasn't the one who called for them to be removed, and can't share the spotlight.

since when is this dreak a spokesman for the community, when he opens his Sh...y mouth there is always a blunter after that, remember his statement that a neighbor turned down the stove in Bedford Gardens fire this past Passover holiday, guess what it was a lie

wrong, go back to the early part of the year, he told the News the same thing that many women walking the bridge every morning are in danger and many have been hit by bike riders.
so you are only worried about his mouth, not about the hundreds of men and women walking the bridge every day, go ask them.
and maybe one day when you will have to use the bridge and get hurt you will understand.
go ahead and attack his mouth, but he still does it with brains, we hope that his wife is OK.
I'm sure some of you have done more for the public then he did.

why doesn't the city mark off part of the walkway for pedestrians & part for bikes? is it too narrow for both?
