City Council Voted Overwhelmingly To Override Sunday Parking Meter Law
The New York City Council has overwhelmingly voted, 42 to 2, to override the mayor's August veto of his Sunday parking meter rule. Sunday parking meters could be gone within 30 days.
The law is expected to cost the city $12 million a year in lost revenue from quarters and parking tickets, in addition to about $1.2 million to change 13,600 parking signs, city officials said.
