Vandals Arrested After Desecrating Synagogue In Bungalow Colony

Thompson - State police in Wurtsboro and state police bias crime unit made three arrests of local teenagers that are accused of desecrating the synagogue at the White Rock bungalow colony in Southwoods Drive, the teens spray-painted holy books, spray-paint dozens of framed photos of rabbis. They took glue and purple glitter from a children's supply closet to make a swastika on a table. They set fire to the velvet curtain over the ark where the Torah is kept. Fortunately, the Torah was not there.
They also ransacked the bungalows and spray-painted anti-Semitic graffit.
