NYC - Once Again, a Farewell for a Fallen Officer
Thousands of police officers, relatives, friends and elected officials went to the Bronx to pay their respects at Officer Enchautegui's funeral. The 28-year-old officer was off duty when he tried to stop a burglary at a neighbor's home early Saturday and was fatally shot. In a city that treats the death of an officer with the somber pageantry of a soldier's death, the ceremony was noteworthy not only for its imagery but also for its timing. For many of the officers, it was their second funeral for a slain comrade in eight days.
