Ukraine - +Very Serious MVA+ A resident from Spring Valley, N.Y. was involved in a motor vehicle accident in Kiev, when his vehicle was hit by a truck while driving in Ukraine from Uman to Kiev, he was pronounced D.O.A.

יעקב מנטל, תושב מונסי, שהה באוקראינה לצורכי עסקים. הוא נהרג בתאונת-דרכים שאירעה בדרך מאומן
ברוך דיין האמת: יעקב מנטל, צעיר חרדי, תושב מונסי, אשר שהה באוקראינה לצורכי עסקים, נהרג הלילה, בסביבות השעה 10 בתאונת-דרכים שאירעה בכביש המוביל מאומן לקייב. הרב משה אסמן, ועוזרו הרב יעקב זילברמן, נסעו לזירת התאונה כדי לזהות את הגופה.
התאונה אירעה כאשר מנטל נהג ברכבו והתנגש במשאית מקומית, ככל הנראה עקב ערפל כבד.
המשטרה וכוחות החילוץ התקשו לחלץ את גופתו מהרכב. הרב אסמן ביקש מהמשטרה שלא לנתח את הגופה. הרב יעקב בלייך, רבה של קייב, מטפל בפרשה מול השגרירות האמריקנית ומשפחתו של מנטל.
יעקב מנטל ז"ל היה מקורב לחסידות ברסלב.

Yakov Montal was driving from Uman where he just dropped off someone, and was on the way to pick someone else up from the airport was struck when a truck made a U-Turn on a dark busy highway, the truck driver fled the scene by foot but B"H a cop was right there and chased and cought him.

Yes, this is Yanky Montal who lived on Bohr Ct. and yes he spent he recent years in Russia where he helped out many Jews that came to Russia he drove them around to Kvurim and he also cooked for many people who loved his food.I spoke to many people who knew Yanky they all say the same thing "Yanky was always with a smile" and that is how everyone remembers him.Yanky will be remembered for his great Chesed that he did for many people.Yakov Yitzchok B"R Moshe Zalman
