Israel - Police Report Just Minor Disruptions At Elections
Israel - The Police Chief said that they have recorded 130 incidents related to elections today, and added that police would remain on highest alert due to terror warnings. There were a few incidents in the Orthodox sector, which along with the Arab sector is considered most sensitive, but nothing remarkable, the chief said.
This morning dozens of Orthodox Jews arrived at various voting sites in Jerusalem waving banners and campaigning against the elections. Police forces scattered the crowds forcefully, and one protestor was held for questioning.
A similar incident occurred in the afternoon near Musyuf Road in Jerusalem. Meanwhile in Beit Shemesh dozens of Orthodox protesters attempted to block entry to a ballot site but were scattered by police.
Also was a dummy bomb discovered at a bus stop at one Hotel Junction on in Jerusalem this afternoon. Police sappers were called to the scene to check out the suspicious backpack with wires hanging out of it. A note reading “Only Baruch Marzel” was found in the bag.
