Town of Bethel Puts Moratorium On 17B Construction
Kauneonga Lake - Bethel Supervisor Harold Russell calls for a six-month moratorium on new buildings on properties adjacent to Route 17B from the town’s eastern border in Mongaup Valley west to the Evergreen Cemetery near Bethel in Kauneonga Lake.
But none other than Bethel Building Inspector Tim Dexter is against it, “I oppose this moratorium,” said Dexter. “There hasn’t been a rush to development. . . . I haven’t heard a valid reason why [we need a moratorium].”

tim dexter is a nice fellow
I own a house in Bethel
He has always politely answered my questions, told what I could and could not do and never played detective afterwards.
He deserves a good word.

Its well known that the inspector receives bribes. By stopping construction they are disturbing a major source of income from him.
