Vilnius, Lithuania - Real Estate Broker Found Guilty In Helping Nazis, But To Frail To Do Jail
Vilnius, Lithuania - An 85-year-old man deported from the U.S. was found guilty in his native Lithuania of having helped Nazis round up Jews during World War II, but a court deemed the man too frail to do jail time.
Algimantas Dailide is a retired real estate broker from the Cleveland, OH area.
"The defendant was fully aware he was committing crimes against Jews, but did not personally take part in killings or torture," the judge said. "For the last 60 years, he did not commit any crimes. Dailide does not pose a threat to society and is too infirm to serve a prison sentence."
