Israel - Cell Phone Service Connects With God
Israel - 'Kosher' phones are stripped of all features but basic service so as not to distract the pious.
In late 2004, an Orthodox rabbi asked Abrasha Burstyn, the chief executive of a small cell phone company, for a phone that could put the secular world on hold.
Cell phone companies, at the time, had started to load their products with entertainment features, and the rabbi wanted none of it. He was in search of a phone without Internet capabilities or text messaging. He didn't want cameras, music downloading, or anything else that could "distract" the pious. He was looking for a device that could make and receive calls. Period.
Last March, his company, MIRS Communications Ltd., rolled out its first batch of "kosher" phones stripped of all features but basic voice service. The company's phones, which are available only in Israel, have attracted 20,000 subscribers.
The phone, on sale in Europe, recently became available in the United States.

YOU COULD ALSO PICK UP ONE IN THE HASOVES AVEDU ROOM. THE ( LOST AND FOUND ROOM ) SITTING THERE FOR YEARS , OR IM SURE IN BUBBIESS ATTIC. AM SURE BUBBY HAD AN ONLY TALK PHONE.

If it is "on sale in Europe" and "recently became available in the United States" how can it be "available only in Israel"?!
