Brooklyn, NY - Two Men Turned Themselves In
Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY - Two men - Mendel Epstein and Abe Braun - turned themselves in to the 90th Precinct, in connection with a brawl that happened on April 22. A day earlier, Abe Mendlowitz also surrendered on charges of assault. All three were issued desk appearance tickets and released.
On April 22, a fistfight broke out in the synagogue at 152 Rodney Street in Williamsburg, when - according to Aron supporter Abe Rubin - three Zalmen followers at the congregation Yetev Lev jumped him, broke his finger and stole his fur hat. "I went in to pray," Rubin said. "I went into the synagogue and it didn't take five minutes and I was beaten."
Mendlowitz and Braun are already on probation for assault in a previous rumble with Aron supporters.
But Zalmen supporter Martin Kahan argued Rubin is a "well known troublemaker" and blamed the October brawl on him. Rubin denied the allegation.
