Rockland County, NY - Program For Free Or Low-Cost Health Insurance
Rockland County, NY - Residents who qualify can sign up for free or low-cost health insurance offered through two state programs.
The Rockland Department of Health can help most uninsured children gain health insurance through a program called Child Health Plus. Adults ages 19 to 64 with limited income and resources also may be eligible for free health insurance through a program called Family Health Plus.
Both programs have income guidelines. The programs are funded through the state of New York and administered through the Rockland Department of Health. For Child Health Plus, there is no monthly premium for families whose income is less than 1.6 times the poverty level, or about $460 a week for a three-person family or about $560 a week for a family of four.
