Spring Valley, NY +Bear On Top Of Tree+ A bear that was spotted first by pedestrians on the street on Kearsing Parkway and Jill Lane, in Monsey, NY. Has climbed up and is staying on top of a tree, Ramapo PD are on the scene requesting Animal Control units to respond with tranquilizers.

the bear was tranqulized at 1pm.
Thousands of onlookers were standing there for 3-4 hours.
I believe the unempleyment rate in monsey should make more news.

"Thousands of onlookers..." Actually, it was 300-400. Although I still wonder how so many ppl have so much time...
And for more facts: Bear spotted around 9. Was chased and eventually ran up tree in condominium complex. Police surrounded tree around 10. By 11 the crowd was growing... Tranquilized after 1. Action died down after 2, although EyeWitness News reporter still here at 5.
I live in the complex, but missed most of the action because I actually work!
