Crown Heights, Brooklyn, NY +Boy Attacked on Yom Kippur+ Earlier today a gang of seven youths attacked and beat up a boy in front of 1559 Carroll Street between Schenectady and Troy Avenue, Hatzolah and Shomrim responded to the scene, the boy was taken by Crown Heights Hatzolah to Kings County Hospital with a cut in his skull and a broken nose.
Three perps were apprehended by Crown Heights Shomrim and handed over to the NYPD.

he is 15/16 and he was not in shul Yom Kippur day b/c I asked his fater and col.il does not know what he is saying.

walking home from 770 after maariv and tehilem yom kippur night, i though i overheard some people talikng about something happening. now i know!

THERE WILL BE A COMMUNITY DEMONSTRATION ON WEDNESDAY, OCT 4TH AT 6:30PM ON EASTERN PARKWAY AND KINGSTON AVE. THIS DEMONSTRATION IS IN REGARDS TO THE SENSELESS HATE CRIMES THE CROWN HEIGHTS COMMUNITY HAVE SUFFERED ON YOM KIPPUR AND OVER THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS.

Okay okay, for all you out there who are busy arguing over the frivolous details - Mendy (who is 16) certainly returned to shul on Yom Kippur day - he went to the shul directly across the street from his house instead of 770 so that he would be able to go home in middle of tefillos if necessary. Despite the circumstances, he managed to fast Yom Kippur!
The attack happened literally a few steps away from his home - another 10 seconds and he would have been safely inside. He has seen several medical professionals today & yesterday and Boruch Hashem they confirmed that his injuries are minimal - a fractured nose and a number of harsh bruises, certainly significant but boruch hashem not worse.
