Monsey, NY - Monsey Trails Planning Route Changes

Monsey, NY - Monsey Trails plans to alter its Manhattan bus route to avoid going through side streets and neighborhoods in Monsey.

Under the proposal, buses no longer would begin their service runs by stopping at Francis Place, Ida Road, Rita Avenue and Jill Lane. Instead, riders would have to meet the bus at the corner of Kearsing Parkway and Route 306.

The changes likely would take effect at the end of the year, pending approval from county officials.

Monsey Trails said due to the large amount of traffic that increased lately they were forced to do the changes.

I think they're right, you should try passing those streets during the day, how man school buses and not only that, the school buses stop 5 times on 1 street (which is completely unfair).

It takes me 15-20 minutes to get to work instead of a 5 minute drive. I can only imagine Monsey trails having to pass by all the local streets with all the school buses.

Hey 8:54 PM, you should have thought of all this craziness before tou started turning your neighborhood into something like Williamsburg. The whole of Monsey is sloly going down the drain and all because of this down zoning.

To our valued customers in Monsey, Williamsburg, Boro Park and NYC:

    Dear Customer,

It has been our pleasure and honor to serve as your transportation provider for the last 25 years, we would like to openly thank you for your full-hearted support throughout all the years.

At this time we would like to share with you some information and inform you of some necessary changes that are critical to make in the way we operate in and around Monsey, and in Williamsburg as well. These changes will take effect as of Sunday, December 17 2006.

Monsey Trails has been circling around Monsey to pick up and drop off passengers on a long list of small and narrow streets in our community. As you can see, we recently have put in to service newer and longer coaches and more new coaches will be put into service very soon. For this and for numerous other reasons (i.e. school bus traffic, length, weight, safety, turns and many more) this has to change as soon as possible.

The following changes will take effect to our route in Monsey.

Buses will no longer go down Ralph, Jill and Kearsing Parkway, and will not go up to Cedar, Blauvelt @ Carlton. Buses that are going to NYC will no longer pick up a YSV instead they will pick up at the bus shelter by Maple corner Phyllis. The schedule will be marked with routes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 please make sure that you look carefully and understand what change will affect you.

At this time we would like to take the opportunity to thank the entire staff at County of Rockland Department of Transportation for their tireless efforts that they have put in and provided out commuters with a brand new nice comfortable MCI coach buses that will be put in to service very soon.

Please remember that our line of communication is always open, we would like to hear from you, please contact our comments and suggestions line at 845-510-5100 ext. 7.

We are looking forward to serve our community many years to come.

This is the smaertest thing that Monsey Trails ever did, it may sound easier to catch the bus in front of your house at 6:00 am but its much safer not to have comercial traffic runing around local streets, and what about 8:00am when your wife is standing outside with your little kinderlach aiting for the school bus to come and hear comes a big coach bus and you chiled trys to make an atempt to go get a buissnes card from the driver and runs into the street in front of the bus. and what about 2:00 pm when your wife trys to get a nap she should be rested when you come home and there comes that big snoring coach bus and wakes her. HORAY HORAY TO MONSEY TRAILS.
    BARRY FROM JILL LN.
