Ramapo, NY - Trial Against Mosdos Chofetz Chaim Postponed
Ramapo, NY - The case against Yeshiva Mosdos Chofetz Chaim developer charged with running a pre-school out of a trailer was adjourned today after the defense argued that its copy of the town code was missing the section pertaining to the charges.
Deputy Ramapo Attorney Meryl Troodler countered in front of Judge Samuel Colman that the developer's defense attorney Steve Barry of South Nyack, had received a detailed copy of the charges and the code in July from her office and therefore objected to the adjournment. "He had plenty of time. The fact that this is being brought up now it preposterous," Troodler said.
Colman said the defense had until Nov. 20 to put its position in writing, and required the town to respond by Nov. 27. A new trial date was set for 1 p.m. Dec. 4.
