Lakewood Cop Cleared In Rabbi Scuffle

Ocean County authorities have cleared a Lakewood police officer who scuffled with a rabbi from any wrongdoing.

Officials say the officer acted properly when he arrested the Rabbi in June. The rabbi was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and obstructing justice.

Charges against the rabbi will probably be presented to a grand jury.

Bursztyn's arrest touched off demonstrations by large crowds of Orthodox Jewish residents outside police headquarters as reported then at VOS IZ NEIAS.

This guy interfered with a cop while he was doing his job.Even a rav does not have the right to do this.I think the Lakewood chevra should protest what happened by boycotting WIC,Medicaid,Section 8,etc.

Burzstyn has a history of authoritative oposition, the only wonder is why it did not happen until now. By not following the cops orders Burzstyn stooped to the level of a shvartze behaima, therefore the cop can not be liable for treating him like one. Lakewoods whole toyneh is that since the frumah act differently than the schvartzes they should be treated differently. Mashma that in instances where they do act like the schoyrim, they should be treated like one.
