Rockland +NYS Thruway Traffic Advisory+ An MVA involving a tractor trailer that was carrying spaghetti with a school bus and a car has the vehicle on fire on the NY State Thruway northbound at the Tappan Zee Bridge, Central Nyck and Tarrytown FD's to respond.

Driver of truck jumped from the bridge in to the water to avoid the fire, Thruway is closed northbound at the Tappan Zee Toll Plaza, and southbound at the entrance to the bridge.

NY State Police requesting EMS to the dockside, also Tarytown dive team to head to the scene.

EMS on the bridge treating 3 patients, requesting additional EMS units and FD.
NY State Police has requested the Thruway Diversion Plan to be implemented due to the entire bridge being shut down, traffic to be diverted to the P.I.P. and to the I-287.

Three boats with their deck guns in operation.

FD report of one DOA that was trapped in the vehicle.
FD boats found the other aided the driver in the water, requesting Stat Flight Air-1, L/Z will be on the NY State Thruway Rockland side.

Stat Flight transported aided to Westchester Hospital.

Units now advising they have 2 aided from the water.

TARRYTOWN — One person was killed and another was plucked from the water below the Tappan Zee Bridge this afternoon after a tractor-trailer slammed into a disabled car and started a fire, according to a state Thruway Authority supervisor.
The 3 p.m. crash in the southbound lanes shut down the Tappan Zee Bridge in both directions.
State Trooper Glen Williams said rescue boats from both sides of the river responded.
The condition of the person plucked from the Hudson River was not immediately available. The Thruway supervisor said the person was taken to Nyack Hospital after diving into the water to escape the fire.
