Washington - White House Kitchen Was Kashert For Chanukkah Party

Washington - The entire White House kitchen was "kosherized" for the first time, for the early Hanukkah party event Tuesday night, a spokesperson said. At past dinners, kosher food was brought in rather than prepared on site.

The process required a team of rabbis to oversee cleaning of the ovens and preparation of the glatt kosher food.
The caterers also brought in kosher silverware and new china plates, and some of the 500 Jewish guests and dignitaries sipped mevushal wine and kosher-approved scotch and vodka, the menu also featured some holiday dishes like sesame-crusted sea bass, potato and apple latkes, jelly doughnuts and dreidel-shaped pastries.
