New York - Fire Chief's House Catches Fire
Dolgeville, NY - Answering the call to fight a fire in their central New York village, members of the Dolgeville Volunteer Fire Department ended up at the chief's house.
Fire Chief Richard Bacher and his wife were relaxing in the living room when they noticed smoke in their two-story house.
According to the Assistant Chief, the fire began in the kitchen area at the back of the home, where it caused extensive damage and got up into the attic. The cause was later determined to be a candle on or near the refrigerator, he said.
