NY - State has $2 Billion Surplus, Governor Says
Albany, NY - Governer George Pataki said, that the state should end the current fiscal year with a $2 billion surplus after earlier projections of a $4 billion deficit.
"This is a dramatic turnaround from last year," Pataki said. He credited "good government policies," such as curbing costs of Medicaid, as well economic policies aimed at expanding the economy.
