Woodbury - Home Sales Boom By Hasidic And Orthodox Buyers
Woodbury - A continuing wave of Hasidic and Orthodox families and investors are buying homes in the tree-lined neighborhoods of Woodbury, that surrounds the much more urban and densely populated Village of Kiryas Joel.
The neat lawns of a yard and some privacy, and the quiet streets instead of the congested, condo lifestyle of Kiryas Yoel, offers a delightful contrast to a city lifestyle. And the houses are affordable by Brooklyn and Kiryas Yoel standards. Plus, Kiryas Joel's religious schools are a short bus ride away - an essential ingredient for a Hasidic family.
Property records show that Hasidic and Orthodox buyers have purchased at least 35 houses in Kiryas Joel's periphery during 19 months.
