UK - Head Teacher Of Satmar, Slammed Council For Creating A Hazard So Near To Their School
UK - A building site containing temporary buildings has become a permanent danger to pupils at a Stoke Newington school - all because the council is trying to make the area friendlier for pedestrians.
Pupils at Satmar Orthodox Jewish Primary School in Chardmore Road have put up with the temporary buildings and mounds of building material on land outside their school for more than a year.
So Liberal Democrat councillor for Cazenove ward, Joseph Stauber, who is also the interim head teacher at Satmar, has slammed the council for creating a hazard so near to a school.
"It's like a building site on our doorstep and it's been like that for two years," he said.
Fellow Lib-Dem and Cazenove ward councillor, Ian Sharer, said the council had promised to move the buildings a year ago after another contractor had moved out of them, but had not fulfilled that pledge.
