Kosher Space Station

NASA is about to begin a series of consultations with rabbis as part of preparations for the stay of Jewish astronauts in its international space station.

The agency is seeking to consult rabbis regarding the necessary arrangements and ways to uphold the Torah in space. Among other things, there is a need to determine at every stage in the space flight the position of Jerusalem in relation to the space station, so that astronauts know which was to turn when praying.

And other issues include the keeping of kosher food and the keeping of Shabbas in space. The international space station is supposed to receive in the coming years guest experts from other countries, and an effort has been made to send Israeli scientists to the station.

"Torah lav bashomayim hie"! No need for all this. The rabbis just want to get paid nice sums of money for their consultations.

Stupid! When NASA consults with rabbis, the rabbis get paid. So, instead of the rabbis saying that its not an issue at all and you can do whatever you want theyre saying it is an issue and lengthening the process of the consultation by guiding them with halacha. So, theyre gettting paid for what they should really not be.

your comments genuis, imlpy that you have your own agenda against rabbis. on the other if you're jealous of rabbis getting paid for consultations, why don't you become a rabbi yourself? this way you'll get paid too! Then again, maybe you're not such a genuis after all & don't have the brains to become a rabbi, that's why you're jealous!!!
