Ventnor, NJ - Swastikas Painted On Kosher Restaurant
Ventnor, NJ - Symbols of hate were spray painted on the side of a kosher restaurant in South Jersey and the restaurant's owner said, and it is not the first time he has been the target of anti-Semitism.
"I saw this. I'm shocked," said Jacob Ben-Shitrit, the owner of the Glatt-Kosher Restaurant on Ventnor Avenue in Ventnor, after finding swastikas scrawled on a wall outside his restaurant.
Ben said that he has become the target of anti-Semitism a number of times in the last three months. Another swastika, which has since been painted over, was found outside the restaurant, as well. He said several offensive messages have also been left on the restaurant's answering machine.
"All kind of things about Germans kill a Jew and all kind of nasty things that it's not proper even to repeat it," Ben said.
They have left him shaken, but he said he would not close his business.
"I'm not leaving. I'm not scared and I'm not leaving," he said.
Ventnor police are investigating the incidents, they currently have no suspects.
