THIS WAS ANOTHER PERVERT
An off-duty school safety agent, called two 13-year-old girls over to his SUV in Queens before flashing them, authorities said yesterday.
"How would you like to make $20?" William Clay, 36, allegedly asked the girls, who were standing at a bus stop near a middle school. "All you have to do is just stand."
Before fleeing, one of the disgusted teens jotted down Clay's license plate number, allowing cops to track him down, a law enforcement source said.
Police said Clay, who has been suspended by the city, is not the serial predator who has repeatedly tried to lure girls into a car in Borough Park, Brooklyn.
The 13-year-olds allegedly flashed by Clay were near the corner of 131st Ave. and Springfield Blvd., about three blocks from Intermediate School 59 in Springfield Gardens.
When Clay rolled up, it was just before 3 p.m. Monday and dozens of children were milling about, sources said.
Ted Noel, 55, who answered the door yesterday at Clay's Queens home, defended his friend. "What I can tell you is that it's false," Noel said, insisting Clay was at work when the girls were flashed.
Clay was arrested Friday and arraigned yesterday on charges of harassment, endangering the welfare of a child and public lewdness.
He faces up to a year in prison if convicted, said a spokeswoman for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.
A judge released Clay but ordered him to stay away from the alleged victims.
It was not clear yesterday which city school Clay had been assigned to.
Malika Mike, 27, who lives nearby, feared the suspect might strike again. "You see a bunch of kids walking around this area," said Mike, a school receptionist. "They're not supervised. They're vulnerable."
Sabrina Niles, 38, a local day care worker, was blunt. "That is crazy," she said. "Doesn't he work around kids?"
