A car went out of control and flipped into the air and into oncoming traffic on the Henry Hudson Parkway late last night, injuring several people and temporarily closing the road in both directions, the authorities said.
The accident occurred on the parkway near 125th Street at about 10:45 p.m., after the driver of a car traveling north lost control of his vehicle, causing it to flip, the police said. It landed atop a car in the southbound lanes.
Four people were taken to area hospitals. Their conditions were not immediately known.
The police had originally believed that one of the passengers might have been ejected into the Hudson River, but the Police Department's Harbor Unit searched the river and found no one, the authorities said.
