Washington Heights, NY - Police Identify Mugger

New York, NY - Police have new information about the mugger who beat and killed an elderly man in Washington Heights last week.

There is a reward for $12,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of a 24-year-old who police say beat Jacob Gertstle, 81, and stole $40.00 from him after returning home from a synagogue to his Washington Heights apartment building. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly identified the alleged killer as William Hill. .

It is believed by police, that he is also responsible for four similar attacks last year in the same neighborhood. 
Authorities say Hill has been arrested for multiple violent crimes in the past.
