West Long Branch, NJ - Dwek Gave $120G To Politicians From '98 To '05

West Long Branch, NJ - Investment property was not the only thing on which Solomon Dwek liked to spend money. The real estate tycoon, arrested on charges that he tried to defraud PNC Bank of $50 million, also gave tens of thousands of dollars to local, county, state and federal political candidates, records show.

Dwek, 33, contributed more than $120,000 to Democrats and Republicans from 1998 to 2005, according to records at the state Election Law Enforcement Commission.
Under the names Solomon and his nickname "Shlomo" Dwek both using the same addresses Dwek contributed more than $25,000 to federal candidates. Among the Shore-area politicians to whom Dwek contributed were Rep. Frank J. Pallone Jr., D-N.J., Long Branch Mayor Adam Schneider and former West Long Branch Mayor Paul Zambrano, who has his own legal troubles. Zambrano was charged last year by the FBI with extorting $15,000 from a contractor.
