Iraq - Saddam Hussein on Hunger Strike
Iraq - Saddam Hussein and his seven co-defendants are refusing to eat, after another of their defense lawyers was killed. The top defense lawyer says the former Iraqi leader and the others are on a hunger strike until ``international protection is provided to the defense team.''
The slain lawyer was shot to death today after being abducted from his Baghdad home by men in police uniforms. He's the third member of Saddam's defense teams to be killed since the trial started eight months ago. The chief defense lawyer blames the Interior Ministry for the killing.
