OH just stop with the hate already. As if such accidents only happen by frum people. I am sure that every pediatric ER in the city has only frum patients.

    Such stupidity is absurd.

As the saying goes, you are so open minded your brains fell out.

It's interesting and sad at the same time. Having read all the postings these past few days of so many misfortunes befalling our community, I can't figure out the psyche of people who get the blame game rolling in a second when something bad happens.

Example: car accident - the guy MUST have had his cell phone glued to his ear, been driving like an animal....

Someone falls out the window - people in boro park don't care about safety...

It's quite disheartening, in fact, to observe the negativity.

It IS the nine days, a time when there is more danger in general. Let us all increase our tehillim, learning halochos of shmiras haloshon, and good deeds and in these zechusim may Hashem protect us, his children all over the world.

And of course, we ALWAYS have to be conscious of SAFETY - that is also one of the mitzvos in the Torah to be observed like any other mitzvah (like keeping shabbos...)

May we all be zocheh to get rid of the negativity in our midst and to greet Moshiach this Tisha B'av, bimhayrah biyomainu amen.

Toddlers Falls Out Of Window In Brooklyn

The city is reminding residents to install window guards after a toddler fell out of a window in Brooklyn Thursday.

The two-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with head trauma after he leaned on a screen and fell out. He's said to be in stable condition.

The Department of Health says building owners are legally required to install window guards in apartments with kids under 10 years old. There shouldn't be any gap greater than four and a half inches between the window and the windowsill.

To report a landlord who hasn't installed window guards, call 311.

  • At 9:16 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

& we, as devoted jews, are not allowed to call 311 (if the landlord is a jew as well), it's pure "masireh"!

if there's a problem with an owner unwilling to provide his requirements, he/she should go to a "bes din" to resolve the matter!

  • At 10:25 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

311 only warns you and after the warning if the landlord still did not install the then he/she is in trouble.

I'm very sorry about my previous post that the child passed away, I was just reporting what I heard on the street, sorry again and maybe that'll just be a segula for that kid to live longer and healthier.

thats is the way to do it if only everyone would be like you we would be all in isreal together

To anon @ 9:16: Are you sick? If my child is in danger because of a missing window guard, or if there is a dangerous situation in my apartment which my landlord does nothing about do you think I would wait to arrange for a Bais Din when every second counts? 311 all the way. Once when I had exposed electrical wiring and the landlord repeatedly ignored my request for repair I called the buildings dept. and was nearly accosted in the hallway with the landlord yelling that I was a "Musser". Negligence in cases of emergency is Pikuach Nefesh in my humble opinion. Oh, and I had to fight for him to install window guards too.
