Monsey, NY - Hatzlocho Mishomaim Rooming House Volations Corrected
Monsey, NY - The Rockland County Board of Health fined agreed to reduce a $3,000 fine it levied in October against Hatzlocho Mishomaim LLC, owner of 118 Route 59, Monsey, for operating a rooming house without a permit and having garbage and debris strewn over the property. The board reduced the fine to $1,000 after the owner told officials that she had never received notice of the violations. All the violations have been corrected, inspectors told the board.

In other action of Rockland County Board of Health
They fined Verizon $3,500 yesterday for leaving its trucks idling in a local depot.
More than 30 idling trucks belonging to the company were seen by Department of Health inspectors on several occasions at a depot used by the company at 19 Station Road, Pomona.
Inspectors from the department met with Verizon officials and told them that the county's sanitary code forbids truck idling.
In response, the company set a policy and posted signs reminding drivers not to leave their trucks on.
The Pomona depot was inspected again last week and no idling trucks were seen, inspectors told the board.
