New York, NY - New Penalties Coming for Discourteous Drivers
New York, NY - Drivers will soon face greater penalties if they don't yield the right-of-way to bicyclists, motorcyclists or pedestrians.
Governor Pataki has signed into law a measure that could result in the license suspension or revocation of a driver involved in a crash resulting in serious injury or death, and drivers also could be required to participate in an accident prevention course.
A major organization of state motorcyclists lobbied for the crackdown on car and truck drivers who cause crashes that injure or kill bikers.
The state Assembly and Senate approved the bill and the law is to take effect November first.

Motorcyclists? They are the worst offenders. When's the last time you saw a MC obey the law? They are the ones whose licenses should be taken away from.

As a relative of a biker commuter, (as in bicycle) this is much appreciated.
