Tacoma, WA - Religious Hate in this Quiet Neighborhood

Tacoma, WA - Religious hate came to a quiet Tacoma neighborhood.

The Yale family started flying an Israeli flag underneath their American flag several weeks ago. "When Hezbollah attacked Israel and all that Middle East crisis began," says Keith Yale, "in support of that, we raised an Israeli flag."

Rebecca Yale was enjoying a quiet evening at home, when she heard the glass shatter. "So she runs outside to see what was a cross that was poured in lighter fluid; and sprayed it on the grass and then lit it," said husband Keith Yale. "And they threw a rock through the window of my bedroom."
The rock shattered the pane, but bounced off the screen and hit the ground. "The rock was the size of my fist and in red letters had the word 'Jew' written on it."

It is not the first incident at the Yale's house since they started flying the Israeli flag. "About a week ago, there was a car that drove by and 4-5 men in it, drove by as my wife went to get the mail and they spit at her and called her a Jew," Keith Yale said.

In the meantime, the flag is still flying at the Yale's home. They say they don't have any plans to take it down, that they don't have any fear at this point. "This is not a nation of hate," Keith Yale said. "And so we're going to fly that flag."

Neighbors say they'll also help protect the Yale's freedom.
Tacoma Police will investigate both incidents as hate crimes.
