Washington, DC +Man Arrested For Trespassing Onto White House Lawn+ A Chicago man has been arrested for trying to get onto the White House grounds through the gate where ticketholders are allowed in for public tours. He was stopped and did not make it inside the gate.

The 25 year-old Rob Rankin got into a scuffle with an officer who tried to stop him at the southeast gate and was arrested for unlawful entry and assault on a police officer.

President Bush was away for a long weekend with his family in Kennebunkport, Maine, at the time of Rankin's arrest.
