Jerusalem, Israel +Ongoing Car Pursuit+ Near the Mir Yeshiva on Shmeil Hanuvi, police are pursuing perps that fled in a Mazda 626 vehicle they have stolen from in front of the Yshiva with the owner in site running after them, in the vehicle there were two Sifrei Torah's worth $150,000.00.
The car was headed towards East Jerusalem.

Israel SWAT (Yasam), anti-terror police (Yamam 2) and border police (Magav) apprehended the perps in the Beis Yisrael Shteelblach. The Sefrai Torah were take to Police HQ for proper ID.

Were the perps Jewish? I hope not!! I have a call into a bochur in the Mir to find out. But, if anyone knows, please let me know.

I was there. Two looked like arabs. the third was from europe i think.
the cops have roped off the entire area.
the mashgiach in the mir is yelling at the bochrim to leave now.

I also just came from there and i'm back in my dirah now & things are stqarting to quiet down.
Bais Yisroel Shteeblach is a big mess.
The oilam was getting all upset since the cops were not letting anyone Daven in the Shul.
Sure enough a fight broke out.
Eggs were thrown at the cops.
Pretty cool action for the Mir tonight.
