I live in Philly (across the street from where it happened)
The bochurs name is Benyamin Leib Lipsky and he was a 16 year old bochur in Ner Yisroel. His father R' Mendel is a mashgiach at Empire.
He walked out of a small "shteeble type" shul Motzei Shabbos and was waiting to cross the street, when he was suddenly hit by a drunk driver.
2 hatzolah members were at the scene (from out of town) (Philly does not have its own hatzalah) and began working on him until the abulances arrived. They were on him for a while at the hospitol, but the loss of blood and head and neck trauma were to much for him to survive.
The driver was arrested and is pending charges of DUI, Vehicular Manslaughter, and many other related charges.
The levaya was large, emotional, and gutwrentching.
