Cherry Hill, NJ - Severed Pig's Head Left at Former State Senator's Doorstep
Cherry Hill, NJ - A former state senator and an outspoken critic of local government leaders found a pig's severed head on her front porch.
Alene Ammond, was at home celebrating her granddaughter's birthday with family and friends when she said her son said he thought he heard running and then a plop, when she opened the door she saw a pig's snout and eyes staring at her "it almost made me sick."
Ammond, a frequent critic of Cherry Hill has in recent months, loudly complained about how the township has handled municipal taxes.
Police received the complaint, and dispatched officers to Ammond's home in the Barclay Farm neighborhood, said Lt. William Kushina, the investigative division commander.
"The hog's head was roasted," Kushina said, noting he couldn't recall a similar act of vandalism in the township's recent past.
Ammond, who praised the local police response, said she was considering registering the incident with the FBI. "I'm not calling it a hate crime, but it is harassment," she said.
