Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY - Gas-Station Scam
Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY - A thief posing as a gas-station attendant and was trying to defraud motorists in Greenpoint, got arrested.
Paul Zeigler, 20, was impersonating a worker in the Hess station on Greenpoint Avenue and McGuinness Boulevard when he asked for one motorist's credit card, he ran it through the card reader and pumped the fuel. He then fraudulently told the motorist the card did not work and asked for cash. But at that time a real employee in the sales booth spotted the scam and called 911.
Zeigler fled when cops arrived just after after the motorist gave him $40 for the gas.
But after a while he tried to sneak back to fetch his jacket that he left behind and at that time he got busted after a brief struggle with police.

same happened a few weeks ago when a yungerman was taking gas at union street near crwon heights and was approached by a "shoocher" and being a little suspicious he asked for only $5 worth of fuel - the guy inserted the pump to the car and ran off with the cash
