Kiryas Yoel, MonDroe +Structure Fire+ In a occupied multiple dwelling in a 2 story building on 18 Lizensk Blvd of Schunemunck Rd., there is a heavy working structure fire right now. KJFD and MonDre FD requesting multiple engines, Woodbury with Fast, Harriman with Tanker.

It was upgraded to a 2nd Alarm fire.

Fire damages three condos
Kiryas Joel - Three Kiryas Joel families were displaced this morning when a fire broke out in a laundry room and led to fire, smoke and water damage on one side of a condominium building, fire officials said.
Monroe firefighters were called to 18 Lizensk Road at 9:20 a.m. and arrived to find heavy smoke pouring from the two-story, six-unit building, Monroe Fire Chief Jeff Mahran said. Kiryas Joel firefighters had begun dousing the fire and helped contain it to one room, he said.
Within half an hour, the fire was under control, Mahran said. Harriman and Woodbury firefighters helped the Monroe and Kiryas Joel departments, while Lakeside and South Blooming Grove companies waited on standby.
The fire started in the laundry room of a first-floor condominium; the cause is under investigation, Mahran said. The occupants of that unit and ones above it and below it in the basement had to be evacuated. No one was hurt.
