While I admire the work of this organization, it however causes me a lot of grief when I am asked how come jews only care about jews? How am I to legitimately answer this question?

I don't see the salvation army, the united christian charities, and others asking about religious affiliation.

You people are so stupid. The reason is not because only jews care about jews, rather, it is because by us jews there are halachic requirements as to a proper jewish burial and the only people that do this for us are the great people of this organization. The salvation army won't do it for us and the united christisn charities won't either. Furthermore, even if they would do it, proper hashgacha from our rabbonim would be required anyway.

I am going to ignore the stupid comment, because not doing so would be stupid.

If you bothered to read the article you would see that they are looking to save torah scrolls. So to a non jew it seems that torah scrolls are more important than goyishe lives. Why are they looking for torah scrolls when there are still thousands stranded. How do you explain that to a goy?

You tell me who is going to save those torah scrolls? The goy?

Why do we have to have our cultural nuances approved of by non-Jews?
