Staten Island +Boat Struck Bridge+ A container boat has struck the Bayonne Bridge's anchor and one container fell off the ship into the water, PD on scene requesting ESU and the collapse rig units to the bridge, and all traffic to the bridge to be closed for new until PAPD checks integrity of the bridge.

The ship left the scene of the accident, Port Authority Police and NYPD are searching for the ship.

FD to stand by until the contents of the container will be determined.

Coast Guard investigated the situation and cleared it as 90-Y, no further units needed and bridge to be reopened.

And with all that post 9-11 security, a ship was still able to get really close. What if there were some explosives on that ship.
