NYS - Minimum Wage Taking Hike
NYS - The ranks of minimum-wage earners across New York state are getting a raise in January.
The state's minimum wage will increase on New Year's Day from $6 to $6.75 an hour. State officials say some 360,000 New Yorkers earn the minimum wage.
The wage hike is part of a three-year increase approved by the state Legislature. The first increase came last January 1. The next boost to $7.15 is set for Jan. 1, 2007.
