Washington, DC +Suspicious Package Near White House+ Police have sealed off the front NW gates of the White House 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, due to suspicious package that was thrown over the fence onto the north lawn by a Frenchman.
The Secret Service also secured the White House and raised its internal alert system by one level during the incident, and reporters, cameramen and photographers were told to remain inside the briefing room while officers investigated.
