Thompson, NY - Town Board Sets Bungalow Restriction, Owners Said It Is All Bias
Thompson, NY - The Town Board last night imposed a six-month ban on building or renovating bungalow colonies, and they are considering zoning changes that would limit construction of year-round houses. But Thompson Supervisor said they would give owners an opportunity for public input, but we want to make the bungalow colonies safe and appealing, he said.
Roughly 35 bungalow owners showed up at last night's Town Board meeting, and the move didn't go down well with many owners at the meeting, but they made few comments.
Afterwards they said in private "It is bias in disguise," said one owner who wouldn't give his name. "We are the ones who are affected, the Hasidic community."
